Powerscourt Centre Welcomes Culture Night
Culture Night is coming back to Powerscourt Centre this September! Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. The annual event has grown from a relatively small scale cultural event staged only in Dublin in 2006 to the significant national cultural event it now is, with some 400,000 people visiting museums, galleries, historic houses, artists’ studios and cultural centres across the island. The initiative has captured both the public imagination and the enthusiasm of artists and cultural organisations. The Powerscourt Townhouse will open the doors to its historical past on September 20th to celebrate Culture Night 2019.Pat Liddy, the well-known historian, writer and artist, will host two tours of the house at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. The meeting point will be at the steps of the building on South William Street. As you are guided through the rooms, from the kitchen to the Ballroom, you will be able to imagine what life was like for Lord & Lady Powerscourt in their beautiful Townhouse. The Culwick Choral Society will also be performing in the Centre from 7:30pm.For one night only you can experience Powerscourt Centre in all it's historical glory!
